A review of Avril Grinstead..... cannot spell, wouldn't know grammar if it landed on her toe, and must hold the world records for incoherent opinions and the number of words in one sentence. Would you trust a review written by this person?
I've been there twice in the last few weeks, taking advantage of their early evening deal. Absolutely NO problems. If you want two courses of tucker for about £6 then this is the place. If you have 'champagne taste' then expect to pay, elsewhere, accordingly. We couldn't put this amount of food on our table, pay to cook it and justify the time preparing it for £12...so what's the problem?. Staff always very friendly, I wouldn't know the manager unless I was introduced to him and , if I remember correctly, the real ale was priced at £1.85 a pint ( I stand to be corrected on this), so no wonder it was sold out!.
I'll be going again, that's for sure.

After visting the toby pub/resturant at tavistock road, I found myself coming out of there very deflated and discuded with the way the landlord ( Gareth Murphy) runs this establishment, not only was the most ignorant abnoctious person i have ever had the misfortune of meeting, he was also incredibly rude and demanding of his staff, shouting and swearing at them, the staff are a delightful bunch of hard working people that deserve a break from this awful man, i also run my own business and would 'nt enflick this sort of behaviour on any staff member or ineed the all important customer, please avoid this pub for your own sanity, very very disappionted. Having just been to The George Toby Carvery in Roborough Plymouth, I must comment on the excellent food, service all staff were extremely busy and cope with all our needs and requirements, the food I must say was the best carvery i and my party have had in Devon for a long while.Worth trying excellent deals going on in the place and the quiz night is the busiest we have ever seen.
I recently attended the George restaurant and found it absolutely awful. There was a hair in my soup, a waiter spilt hot gravy onto my crotch resulting in 3 days in hospital being treated for minor burns and my child fell through the jungle jim as the supports gave way and he ended up with a heavily fractured arm. Never go near this place!
